Amarok (PRE-ORDER)
Themed around the ancient Inuit wolf spirit, Amarok is a fast-paced game that challenges players to trust their instincts and navigate an ever-shifting forest to claim victory.
Its standout feature is a brilliant scaling-difficulty mechanic: the closer you get to winning, the harder the game becomes. With no victories you see both of your cards normally; after one win you must hold one card facing yourself and one facing outward (visible only to opponents); and after two wins you hold both cards facing away from yourself, forcing the player in the lead to rely on deduction, memory and reading their opponents to secure the final win.
Players race to be the first to win three rounds and reach the “sacred paw print” on their score track. On your turn you play one card from four possible locations — your own hand, the central River, the top of the deck, or blindly stolen from an opponent — aiming to finish the round with two cards equalling either the highest total value (Wolf Pack) or the lowest total value (Lone Wolf). Play a “Change of Season” card and the objective instantly flips for everyone!
