A Gentle Rain

Take a deep breath, and relax…

You’ve come to the lake hoping to glimpse a rare and beautiful sight. The lilies here only open their blossoms in the rain — and only rarely do all eight kinds bloom at once. In A Gentle Rain, your goal is to lay the lake tiles so that all eight types of lily bloom before you run out of tiles and the rain ends.

Draw a tile and place it beside one already in play, matching the colours of every touching edge. Each time you complete a square of four tiles, a blossom opens between them. Keep score, or don’t — this is a cosy, meditative solitaire game meant to be played slowly. The rulebook’s very first instruction is simply to get comfortable: change into something loose, put on some calming music, and pour yourself a warm drink.
